About Us

Our Beginnings
On the glorious and memorial Day, May 10, 1959 this congregation had its very first beginning a humble beginning and a big house (Featured Above) at 1916 5th Ave. N. in the city of Bessemer. Our place of worship was a God send providing the first members of this newly established congregation a place to worship. This building provided for by Bro. Charlie Burrell, was also used to accommodate the minister and his family.
From the beginning we were blessed with visitors in almost each Lord's Day Service exemplifying intense interest, and to our great joy before the first year had expired, we, with the help of the Lord, had strengthened the man power of the congregation by an addition of at least three males. This indeed was a source of encouragement.
The size of our congregation was not discouraging at all for we were consoled with the holy scripture, "Wheresoever two or three are gathered in My name, there I am also in the midst". Matthew 18:20
We had a very loving beginning harmoniously and untiringly along with our beloved, patient, sacrificing, and hard working minister, Brother W.N. Chriesman, who from our very first service until this present time has not decreased in faith, courage, energy, determination, and all of the attributes which go to make up one of God's greatest servants these have been hard years for him and his growing family of three children presently, but he's never neglected to trust God.
Vision
Our Vision is to provide for the next generation not only a tradition and culture worthy of the Lord, but also a building they can grow in as well. We take much pride in the training of our youth to be Preachers, Teachers, Song Leader, Deacons and Elders. We instill and encourage them to be mentally, financially and spiritually sound.
